Rajshahi Royals produced a gritty performance to defeat Cox’s-Bazaar Hurricanes by two wickets in a thrilling league match of the LPT Presents Dallas Bangladesh Community Cricket League 2026 at PNP Ground, City of Dallas.

After winning the toss, Cox’s-Bazaar Hurricanes elected to bat first but were restricted to 150/6 in their 20 overs by a disciplined Rajshahi bowling attack. Rajshahi Royals then chased down the target in a tense finish, reaching 151/8 in 16.3 overs to secure the victory.

The Hurricanes suffered a poor start, losing opener Amin for a duck in the very first over. Mostofa Rahat Mozumdar stabilized the innings slightly with a steady 27 off 27 balls, while Emtiaz Ahmed added a quickfire 15. Following their departures, Shadman Sakib Ornob played a crucial anchoring role, top-scoring with 45 off 36 balls, which included 2 fours and 2 sixes. Mostafa Jubayer also contributed a solid 26 before retiring hurt, helping push the Hurricanes to a defendable total. Cox’s-Bazaar’s final score was heavily aided by 26 extras, including 22 wides.

Ibrahim Ebu was the standout performer with the ball for Rajshahi, delivering a masterful spell to claim 3 wickets for 28 runs in his four overs. Md Abdullah Shahneous Bari provided excellent support, picking up 2 for 21.

In reply, Rajshahi Royals’ chase got off to a chaotic start as they collapsed to 9/3 within the first 8 balls, losing Anis R, RP1, and Tanveer Saad in quick succession. However, opener Hasan Tanvi turned the game on its head with a spectacular counterattack, smashing a blistering 55 off just 31 deliveries, featuring 4 boundaries and 3 towering sixes.

Tanvi found support from Saif Gafur (13) and captain Rakib-The Rombi, who chipped in with a vital 22. A flurry of late wickets, including the run-out of Maruf PupZ (11) and a duck for Ibrahim Ebu, triggered another mini-collapse to leave Rajshahi reeling at 140/8. Ultimately, Fagley Ali Hossain (15* off 7 balls) and Md Abdullah Shahneous Bari (7*) kept their composure to guide their team over the line.

Cox’s-Bazaar’s bowlers fought valiantly despite defending a modest total and dealing with a massive 37 extras. Iqbal H was the pick of the attack with an impressive 3/39, while Joynal Plano bowled beautifully to take 2/23 in his spell.
