Summer break is winding down across North Texas as families prepare for the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
Most public school districts across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex will welcome students back between early and mid-August. However, select campuses—including several within Dallas ISD—are opting for earlier start dates under alternative calendars designed to mitigate summer learning loss and keep students academically engaged year-round.
