Dallas-based soul food restaurant Kitchen + Kocktails is preparing to open a new location in New York City’s Times Square this summer, marking a significant expansion for the rapidly growing brand.
The announcement was shared on Tuesday through the company’s Facebook page, where it welcomed New York with a celebratory message: “Some don’t start, some won’t stop. New York City, Welcome Home…”
From Dallas Success to National Growth
Founded by Kevin Kelley, Kitchen + Kocktails first opened its doors in August 2020 on Elm Street in downtown Dallas. Kelley positioned the restaurant as an “elevated comfort food” destination, blending classic Southern flavors with a modern dining experience.
The menu features popular dishes such as shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, jerk lamb chops, and fried chicken, alongside traditional sides including mac and cheese, candied yams, and collard greens.
A photo from the Dallas location taken in August 2020 shows Kelley with general manager Rico Spears, highlighting the leadership behind the brand’s early success.
Expansion Into New Markets
Kitchen + Kocktails currently operates six locations across the United States. The upcoming Times Square opening will add to that footprint, along with a planned Boston location also expected to launch this summer, according to details published on the restaurant’s official website.
Message of Growth and Community Support
In its Facebook statement, the company credited its progress to strong community backing since its launch in 2020. The post emphasized gratitude toward supporters and highlighted its continued commitment to quality service.
“Since 2020, we’ve been supported by friends and fans who believe in Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley,” the message read in essence. “With that support, we remain committed to delivering great food, drinks, and a vibrant dining experience—now and in the future.”
