Six Frisco ISD Soccer Teams Advance to Regional Semifinals

FRISCO, Texas — Six teams from Frisco Independent School District are moving on to the regional semifinals in the UIL soccer playoffs after a strong showing in the latest round of postseason play.
The advancing teams include four boys squads — Emerson, Liberty, Panther Creek and Wakeland — along with two girls teams, Reedy and Wakeland. Together, they represent five different playoff brackets, highlighting the district’s depth across both boys and girls soccer programs.
Boys Teams Deliver Key Wins
In Class 5A Division I, Emerson secured a 2-0 victory over McKinney to keep its playoff run alive. Liberty advanced in 5A Division II after a dramatic penalty shootout win against Jacksonville, following a 4-4 tie in regulation.
Wakeland edged Mount Pleasant 1-0 in another 5A Division II matchup, while Panther Creek dominated Conrad 4-0 in Class 4A Division I action.
Girls Teams Continue Strong Run
On the girls side, Reedy delivered one of the most decisive performances of the round, defeating McKinney 5-0 in 5A Division I. Wakeland also advanced comfortably with a 6-2 win over Jacksonville in 5A Division II.
Regional Semifinal Matchups Set
The remaining teams will compete in the regional semifinals scheduled for March 27–28 at various venues across North Texas:
- Wakeland (boys) vs. West Mesquite
- Liberty vs. Midlothian Heritage
- Emerson vs. Bryan Adams
- Panther Creek vs. Kilgore
- Reedy (girls) vs. Lake Belton
- Wakeland (girls) vs. Belton
Game times and locations vary, with most matches set for Friday evening and one scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
Looking Ahead
With six teams still competing, Frisco ISD continues to be well represented deep into the postseason. The regional semifinals will determine which teams move one step closer to a state championship appearance.
