Katy Trail Ice House, a popular casual dining and craft beer spot known for its locations in Dallas and Plano, is expanding with a major new restaurant in Allen. The new Allen site is expected to become the brand’s largest location in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Groundbreaking is scheduled for 2026 on a two-acre, tree-filled property along State Highway 121 near Rowlett Creek.

The Allen location will feature an outdoor patio space spanning more than two acres, making it even larger than the well-known Uptown Dallas patio. The venue will offer the same signature menu guests already enjoy, along with three barbecue smokers, 50 beers on tap, and a dog-friendly environment designed for outdoor gatherings. The restaurant will also provide direct access to nearby hike-and-bike trails.

New Restaurant Will Anchor The Ranch Development

The Allen Katy Trail Ice House will serve as a key anchor tenant at The Ranch, a 10-acre office and retail campus located along SH 121 at Exchange Parkway. The development is designed with nature-inspired features, including trail connections and on-site dining options aimed at creating a convenient and amenity-rich environment for office tenants.

Houston-based developer Hines has also signed on to build two office buildings next to the restaurant, further expanding the mixed-use campus.Same Favorite Menu and Outdoor Experience The upcoming Allen location will continue offering Katy Trail Ice House’s popular menu items, including customer favorites like the hangover burger and summer beer. Barbecue selections will also be available, served fresh from the restaurant’s three smokers.

With an expanded patio, a wide craft beer selection, and an outdoor-focused setting, the new location is expected to become a major gathering spot for residents and visitors.

Third DFW Location and Biggest Yet

The Allen expansion will mark Katy Trail Ice House’s third location in the DFW region and its largest to date. Positioned within a growing mixed-use development, the restaurant aims to deliver a community-centered atmosphere that blends casual dining, outdoor hospitality, and craft beverages.
