Share

(December 2, 2025) Several streets in and around Frisco Square will be closed from Wednesday through Friday, December 3–5, as preparations begin for Saturday’s Frosty 5K and Merry Main Street festivities. On Saturday morning, December 6, Main St. and the southbound lanes of Frisco St. near Toyota Stadium will be shut down from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. for the Frosty 5K. In addition, most roads within Frisco Square will remain closed throughout the day for both events. There will also be no vehicle access to the Frisco Square Christmas Light Show on Saturday night.

Below are details on daily closures, detours, and parking options.

Wednesday, December 3

The section of Simpson Plaza in front of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers can still reach City Hall from any direction, but direct access and parking in front of the building will not be available. Vehicles circulating around Simpson Plaza will be redirected behind the building, where the free parking garage—featuring ADA parking on every level—is accessible.

Simpson Plaza will reopen at 5 p.m. for the Frisco Square Christmas Light Show.

Thursday, December 4

Coleman Blvd. and the front portion of Simpson Plaza will be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Customers visiting businesses on Coleman Blvd. should use the parking areas behind the buildings, accessible from Main St., World Cup Way, or Frisco St. Drivers approaching City Hall via Main St. should use World Cup Way or Frisco St., as the front of the building will not be open for parking.

At 5 p.m., both Coleman Blvd. and Simpson Plaza will reopen for the evening Light Show, but small sections of roadway on each side of City Hall will remain closed overnight.

Friday, December 5

Simpson Plaza in front of the Municipal Center will again be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Access to City Hall remains open, but drivers cannot park directly in front. Vehicles will be routed behind the building to the free parking garage, where ADA parking is available.

The plaza will reopen at 5 p.m., though limited closures around City Hall will continue overnight.

Saturday Morning (Before 10 a.m.) — December 6

Beginning at 6 a.m., several major streets will close for the Frosty 5K:

  • Main St. between Dallas Pkwy. and Frisco St.
  • Southbound Frisco St. between Research Rd. and Technology Dr.
  • World Cup Way north of Main St.
  • Coleman Blvd. and roads around Simpson Plaza

Traffic on Main St. will be diverted around the race, either via Dallas Pkwy.–Eldorado Pkwy.–North County Rd. (north of the course) or via John W. Elliott Dr.–Page St.–Dallas Pkwy. (south of the course). Detour signage will be in place.

From the north, Frisco St. will only allow local access to Research Rd., while northbound traffic will remain open. Visitors heading to Fieldhouse USA, hotels on Sports Village Rd., Enterprise Dr., and nearby businesses should approach from the east using Main St. and then go north on Frisco St.

Drivers heading to Coleman Blvd. before 10 a.m. can enter via northbound Dallas Pkwy., Frisco Square Blvd., and World Cup Way, or use westbound Main St. to reach the East Frisco Square Parking Lot via southbound Frisco St.

Race participants may park in Toyota Stadium’s west lots or in the parking garage behind City Hall. Access to Toyota Stadium during closures is only available from northbound Dallas Pkwy.; City Hall garage access is via Page St.

Cinemark and Medical City visitors arriving before 10 a.m. must enter from northbound Dallas Pkwy. and turn onto Page St., or follow the westbound Main St. detour.

Saturday After 10 a.m. — December 6

Main St., Frisco St., and World Cup Way will reopen at 10 a.m., but streets inside Frisco Square will remain closed for Merry Main Street. Throughout the day:

  • Coleman Blvd. will be closed between Main St. and Frisco Square Blvd.
  • Frisco Square Blvd. will be closed between Church St. and Frisco St.
  • Library St. and Church St. will be closed between Page St. and Frisco Square Blvd.

All streets will reopen by 10 p.m.

Customers visiting Frisco Square shops and restaurants may use the East Parking Lot (accessible from Main St. and Frisco St.) or the public areas of the West Parking Garages (via World Cup Way).

Event parking for Merry Main Street will be located north of Main St. at Toyota Stadium, with free shuttles beginning service at 2:30 p.m. Frisco Square visitors may also use the event lots and shuttle service.

Drivers can use the Waze app to navigate around all closures.
