ALLEN, Texas — Community and student organizations in Collin County are organizing a peaceful demonstration this Sunday in Allen to protest recent actions by federal immigration enforcement agencies and advocate for more humane policy. The Collin County Democratic Party and the Allen Progressive Eagles student group will co-host the “ICE Out of Texas” protest along the public sidewalks in front of Watters Creek, a mixed-use shopping and dining area at 985 W Bethany Drive, Allen.
Organizers have described the event as a peaceful, lawful, and powerful demonstration of community solidarity. Hana Fayed, leader of the Allen Progressive Eagles, said, “A collaborative effort with the CCDP will amplify our message. More than anything, we want our voices to reach farther and to show that the community is united in calling out these actions.” Jeremy Sutka, chair of the Collin County Democratic Party, echoed the sentiment, stating that the demonstration reflects shared values of justice and compassion. “When students show this kind of courageous leadership, it’s our duty to support and amplify their call for accountability and humanity,” Sutka said.
The protest is organized in response to fatal encounters involving ICE agents in Minnesota, which have sparked national outrage. Organizers aim to amplify solidarity with affected communities across the country and advocate for accountability and humane immigration enforcement practices.
