Share

PLANO, TEXAS — The Collin County Democratic Party (CCDP) announced it will host its 2026 Primary Candidate Forum and Public Ballot Draw on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Wylie. This event officially kicks off the Democratic primary season in one of Texas’ most critical battleground counties.

A Public Launch for the 2026 Election Season

The forum will bring together Democratic candidates running for offices ranging from U.S. Senate to local county positions. Participants will engage in a moderated discussion on key issues facing Texas voters, including education funding, economic fairness, and civil liberties.

The event will also feature a ceremonial public ballot draw, determining the order of candidates on the March 2026 Democratic Primary ballot. This visual and engaging process serves as a symbolic start to the election cycle.

Energizing the Democratic Base

Jeremy Sutka, Chair of the Collin County Democratic Party, emphasized the importance of a competitive primary:

“This is where our movement becomes a ticket. We are bringing together the energetic, diverse coalition of leaders who will carry our message of economic fairness, fully funded public schools, and protected freedoms to voters. A strong, contested primary is how we build the momentum to win in November.”

The event is designed to introduce candidates to the community, energize Democratic voters, and showcase the party’s depth of leadership ahead of the pivotal 2026 elections. Media are invited to cover the forum, ballot draw, and interview participating candidates and party officials.
