Ann Anderson Narrowly Wins Frisco City Council Place 1 Seat in Special Election

FRISCO, Texas — Ann Anderson won the Jan. 31 special election for Frisco City Council Place 1, according to unofficial results from Collin and Denton counties. Anderson received 4,052 votes (50.66%), narrowly defeating Mark Piland, who earned 3,946 votes (49.34%). The race was decided by just 106 votes.

Voting totals showed Piland leading in early votes, while Anderson gained ground on Election Day to secure the win. In total, 7,998 ballots were cast, including early voting, mail ballots and Election Day votes, out of 138,720 registered voters.

The City of Frisco will conduct the official election canvass on Feb. 10, 2026, to certify the results.
