Houston’s longtime dining destination Grand Lux Cafe is set to close its doors after more than two decades in the city.

The restaurant, located at 5000 Westheimer Road next to The Galleria, will serve its final guests on January 24, 2026, according to a spokesperson for The Cheesecake Factory, the parent company of Grand Lux Cafe.

In a statement provided to KHOU 11, the company said the decision came after a thorough review of operations. “After extensive review and analysis, the company made the difficult decision to discontinue operation of our Grand Lux Cafe in Houston,” the statement read. The company added that it is working with employees to help them transition into other opportunities, including potential transfers to other company-owned concepts in the area.

Grand Lux Cafe has been a fixture in the Galleria neighborhood for 21 years, serving as a popular gathering spot for locals and visitors alike.

Company representatives expressed gratitude to the Houston community, saying they have “truly enjoyed being a part of the local community” and encouraging diners to continue supporting their other restaurant brands throughout the region.
