J. Alexander’s, the nationally recognized upscale casual restaurant brand known for its wood-fired cuisine and polished service, is set to open its first North Texas location in Plano in early 2026. The restaurant will hire approximately 100 employees ahead of its opening.Part of SPB Hospitality, J. Alexander’s in Texas and marks the brand’s debut in the DFW area.

Plano: A Strategic Choice

Kristen Hohl, executive vice president of marketing for SPB Hospitality, highlighted Plano as a natural fit for the restaurant’s expansion. “Plano offers an incredible opportunity for our entry into the DFW area,” Hohl said. “The city’s growth, energy, and appetite for exceptional food align perfectly with what we bring to the table.”Known for its elevated takes on American classics, J. Alexander’s aims to introduce its signature style to an audience already familiar with a vibrant dining scene.

What Diners Can Expect

The restaurant will operate daily and feature a menu of hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, and signature salads and sandwiches, including New York strip, slow-roasted prime rib, filet mignon, and seared ahi tuna. The bar will serve handcrafted cocktails such as a spicy margarita, Kentucky old-fashioned, and lemon drop mojito, complemented by a curated wine list. The setting combines sophistication with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.A private dining room will also be available for corporate events, celebrations, or intimate gatherings, catering to both everyday diners and special occasions.

Hiring for the Launch

J. Alexander’s will begin hiring 90–100 staff members for both front- and back-of-house positions. Training will focus on maintaining the brand’s high standards for attentive, personalized service.Hiring starts on December 3 and will take place on-site Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Dallas Parkway location.
