The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) is preparing for the upcoming World Cup celebrations in Dallas with the launch of an outdoor pop-up experience called Sideline, designed to offer visitors food, drinks, and casual recreation throughout the summer.

Located at the museum’s Eagle Family Plaza—typically home to a food kiosk—the activation will run from May 30 through July 19.

A World Cup-Themed Outdoor Experience

Sideline will transform the space into a seasonal hangout featuring a mix of specialty treats, beverages, and light entertainment. The menu includes soft-serve margaritas, sundaes with multiple toppings, and “dirty sodas,” which combine commercial soft drinks with flavored syrups or cream-based add-ins.

Alongside food and drink offerings, the venue will include music and lawn games, creating a relaxed social space for visitors spending time in downtown Dallas during the tournament period.

Limited Weekly Hours After Opening Weekend

Following its opening weekend, Sideline will operate from Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The schedule is intended to serve both museum visitors and crowds gathered in the surrounding downtown area for World Cup-related events.

The pop-up is positioned as an alternative stop for refreshments for people exploring the city or attending nearby fan activities.

Strategic Location Near Fan Zone Activities

The Eagle Family Plaza sits just steps away from Klyde Warren Park, where a World Cup Fan Zone is expected to draw large crowds. The park will feature live match screenings on large outdoor screens, along with additional event programming for soccer fans.

The proximity of Sideline to these festivities places it directly along one of the busiest pedestrian routes expected during the tournament period in Dallas.

Downtown Dallas Prepares for Global Visitors

With thousands of international visitors expected across the Dallas–Fort Worth region, city attractions are preparing for increased foot traffic and tourism activity.

The Dallas Museum of Art sees Sideline as an opportunity to align its public space with the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the global sporting event while encouraging visitors to engage with the museum’s broader cultural offerings.

Location and Details

Sideline is located outside the Dallas Museum of Art at 1717 N. Harwood St., Dallas. More information is available at dma.org/dine-sideline.
