North Texas residents can expect a break from the recent stretch of wet weather as dry and hot conditions settle across the region heading into June.

According to the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth, Saturday will begin with mostly cloudy skies before gradually turning sunnier throughout the day. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-90s, while overnight lows will remain in the upper 70s.

Southerly winds between 5 and 10 mph are forecast to continue through the day, with occasional gusts reaching up to 20 mph.

Rain Chances Increase Early Next Week

The dry pattern is expected to persist through the remainder of the weekend and into the start of the new month. However, forecasters say the likelihood of rain will begin to rise Monday night.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms could develop from Monday night through Friday, with precipitation chances ranging between 20% and 50% across the region. Despite the possibility of rain, daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s, while nighttime lows stay in the 70s.
