Medical City Plano is moving forward with a significant infrastructure upgrade after filing shows it has allocated $24 million for the construction of a new parking garage, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.
The project is part of a broader redevelopment effort aimed at expanding hospital capacity and improving access for patients, staff, and visitors.
Part of $108 Million Hospital Expansion
The new parking structure is connected to Medical City Plano’s larger $108 million expansion plan. The overall project includes adding more than 131,700 square feet to the hospital campus.
As part of the expansion, the hospital also plans to increase capacity with 60 additional medical and surgical beds. In addition, the project includes the construction of three new rooftop helipads to improve emergency transport capabilities.
Focus on Capacity and Accessibility
The parking garage development is intended to support the hospital’s growing footprint and rising patient volume. By expanding parking infrastructure alongside clinical facilities, the hospital aims to reduce congestion and improve access across the campus.
Ongoing Growth at Plano Campus
The expansion reflects continued investment in healthcare infrastructure at the Plano facility, positioning it for increased demand in both emergency and scheduled medical services.
Once completed, the combined upgrades are expected to significantly enhance operational capacity and patient flow at the hospital.
