After more than 20 years in Frisco, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine has officially moved just down the road to Plano, bringing longtime fans along for a fresh chapter in the restaurant’s story. The new location at 8601 Preston Road, near the southwest corner of Preston Road and State Highway 121, sits only a mile from its former home, maintaining a sense of familiarity for loyal diners.
Celebrating 40 Years of Flavor
The relocation comes during a milestone year for the restaurant. Founded in 1986 by Gloria and Jose Fuentes, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026. The restaurant has built a devoted following in North Texas with Salvadoran classics, Tex-Mex favorites, and award-winning margaritas.
A Modern Space with a Classic Menu
The new 8,500-square-foot Plano location was built from the ground up, blending Gloria’s Latin roots with modern touches. Vibrant décor features a Caralarga tapestry, handcrafted Mexican pottery, and an upscale bar with expanded seating. Guests can also enjoy a climate-controlled indoor-outdoor patio, ideal for year-round dining.
Despite the updated surroundings, the menu remains true to its heritage. Fan favorites such as pupusas, black bean dip, orange roughy ceviche, and the signature margaritas continue to delight diners, ensuring the essence of Gloria’s remains intact.
Honoring the Community
For Gloria and Jose Fuentes, the move represents both gratitude and growth. Decades of support from Frisco and Plano patrons made the expansion possible, and the new space is designed to continue the tradition of hospitality while accommodating more guests in a refreshed, modern environment.
What’s Next for the Frisco Location
The former Frisco location will soon welcome Muchacho Tex-Mex, the third North Texas location for Big Dill Hospitality and celebrated chef Omar Flores, a two-time James Beard Award nominee. Scheduled to open in spring 2026, Muchacho will join its original Dallas Preston Center location (2019) and Southlake outpost (2021), bringing new culinary energy to the space Gloria’s once occupied.
With a combination of legacy, community, and innovation, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine continues to serve as a North Texas staple while paving the way for the next generation of dining experiences in Plano.
