The Collin County Democratic Party (CCDP) has announced plans to host its 2026 Primary Candidate Forum and Public Ballot Draw, marking the official start of the Democratic primary season in one of Texas’ most politically competitive counties.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Wylie, Texas. Party leaders say the forum represents a key moment in launching Democratic campaigns across Collin County ahead of the March 2026 primary election.
Democratic candidates seeking offices ranging from the U.S. Senate to local county positions will participate in a moderated discussion addressing issues important to Texas voters. The event will begin with a public ballot draw, which will determine the order of candidates’ names on the 2026 Democratic primary ballot.
Jeremy Sutka, chair of the Collin County Democratic Party, said the forum is intended to unite candidates and voters while building momentum for the upcoming election cycle. He emphasized the importance of a competitive primary in strengthening Democratic efforts heading into the general election.
The forum is open to media coverage, and reporters will have opportunities to observe the ballot draw and interview participating candidates and party leadership.
